How to cite information sources that I used when creating my own table or graph?

Even though you’ve created your own graph, table, or image, you’ve used data from another source and must therefore cite it.

Most student papers will require a general note  for citation. All the sources must have citation in note and full reference entry in your Reference List.

In the note, you’ll need to describe in your own words how the data was handled. For instance: ‘Table constructed by the author using data from…’ or ‘Graph generated by the author based on data from…’ and so forth.

Example:

Note. Graph made by author based on data from Statista: Forecast: Industry revenue of “publishing of books, periodicals“ in Czechia 2012-2025 (2021).
