An exhibition in the library dedicated to Prof. Gruber

On Monday, November 25, 2024, the opening of the exhibition The Invisible Professor – Josef Gruber (1865–1925) took place at the Library Club of the Prague University of Economics and Business in Prague. The exhibition showcases the life and work of a prominent Czech economist, university lecturer, and politician, who significantly influenced discussions on economic issues, particularly through his role as editor of Obzor národohospodářský (The Economic Horizon), at the time the only specialized journal focused on economics and national economy.

The exhibition presents Gruber not only as an expert and author of numerous publications but also as a person with an exceptional sense of justice, tirelessly advocating for strengthened social solidarity and the improved status of middle and lower classes. Visitors have the opportunity to explore his contributions to Czechoslovak legislation, his role in establishing key institutions, and his leadership of a prestigious economic journal. The exhibition will be open until the end of November 2025.
