What are citation styles? Which of them to choose?

There are really many citation styles. Every significant publisher has his own citation style that is required from the authors of articles. There are also different types of citation recommended for  various fields. The Hardvard style, AMA, MLA, APA, Chicago, Vencouver are the most common world-wide citation styles. The citation styles arise from the tree types stated by the regulation for connecting the text to links and a list of references (Harvard style, Number links, Footnotes). The main finding is that the used information source must be easy to grab the cited information source according to each citation. It depends on the  choice of the department which style of citing will be required in the works. In general, regulation ČSN ISO 690 is recommended. The selected style must be used throughout the work.
