Invitation to the opening of the exhibition The Greatest Czech Banker – JUDr. Jaroslav Preiss

The chief director of the Živnostenská banka, JUDr. Jaroslav Preiss (1870-1946), was one of the most influential economic and political actors in interwar Czechoslovakia and is considered the most important Czech banker of the 20th century. However, he was not only an experienced financier. He also had a love of books and a keen interest in the arts, which he generously supported. The exhibition at the VŠE Library presents this extraordinary personality, whose name was to disappear from history forever after 1945, primarily as a patron, lover of art and books.
